Sponsored: I was sent several
Pixi Beauty Shea Butter Lip Balms and MatteLustre Lipsticks to review. Let's start with the lip balms! They contain shea butter (nourish), vitamin E (protect) and have excellent pigmentation. They're just the right consistency. Not overly moisturizing. Not dry, that they drag. It's just a matter of picking the right shade for you. I thought Natural Rose was too light for my skintone, but I loved Sweet Peach and Ripe Raspberry. I thought Ripe Raspberry would be way too loud for me, but it actually looks nice on. I tried one
Pixi Mattelustre Lipstick in Classic Red last year and loved it. I'm so happy Pixi sent me more to try. Well, I loved all three shades: Rose Naturelle, Peach Blossom and MY FAVORITE is Bitten Rose. Very pretty colors. These lipsticks are full coverage DEMI MATTE! Because I'm not a fan of matte lipsticks. They have added peptides, hyaluronic acid, vitamins C & E. They feel moisturizing to my lips. The color payoff is excellent. They're just really good.
Sweet-Bittersweet-NotSweet
supersweet(run & buy it) sweet(really good,buy it) bittersweet(ok, issues)not sweet(not good,don't buy this stuff)
Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm $8 - Sweet
Pixi MatteLustre Lipstick $6 - Sweet
I was sent a bunch of them as well and Keep Sweet Peach in my coat pocket whenever my lips get dry. The Color just goes with everything and is very comfortable to wear. The MatteLustre lipsticks I find a tad bit drying over time, but then again this time of year everything is drying on my lips...

Those lip balms are something I would definitely wear on a no makeup day!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I'm really surprised at how pigmented the lip balms are. I thought they would be sheer! I'll pick up at least one to try soon.

The color payoff on the Shea Butter Lip Balms looks really good and the texture and wear sounds so good as well! The Mattelustre Lipsticks sounds good as well. I'm not a fan of matte lipsticks but demi-mattes are a yes. I need to go sample these the next time I'm at Target.
ReplyDeleteI have a couple and really enjoy them as well! Love those shades!

Allllll of these look so pretty on you Kim!! I love the bitten Rose shade the best too! But the sweet peach one from the balm collection looks amazing as well! These both sound nice! I'll definitely have to try those lip sticks!
ReplyDeleteI love rose shades on you. Thanks for the introduction to the line Kim!
ReplyDeleteWow the pigmentation of these lip balms are fantastic, reminds me a bit of the Revlon Lip Butters that came out years ago. I love Bitten Rose and Rose Naturelle on you, such gorgeous shades!

I recently added a bunch of Pixi products to my arsenal and I'm loving them so far, particularly the eyeshadows and highlighters. I haven't tried any of their lip products yet, though, and it sounds like that needs to change!

Hi Kim, I checked out this brand at Target over the summer because I subconsciously remember reading it on your blog. I bought their eyeliner and thought it went on very smoothly.

Matte and moisturizing in the same sentence ?! These have got to be good.
ReplyDeleteI love sheer lipbalms. They have a great selection of shades to choose from. Usually companies only bring out like 5 shades in this category.
