Through my years, L'Oreal has always made really good eyeshadows. I still have a L'Oreal HIP eyeshadow duo. Well these prove no exception. Brass Knuckles is a gorgeous metallic gold and Rose Chrome is a beautiful metallic ballet pink. I always think of gold during the Christmas season, but not always pink. Pink can also be beautiful this time of year. Remember my practically perfect Christmas?
L'Oreal Colour Riche Matte Lipstick in Devil's Matte-Vocate Red $8.99 - Supersweet
Before there were so many choices in lipsticks, my go to was always L'Oreal lipsticks. They were always pigmented, rich, creamy and long-wearing. Blake's Red is the perfect Christmas red! Perfect for the holidays. Red always makes a statement. I love red lipsticks.
L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail Eyeliner in Black $8.95 - Supersweet
L'Oreal Voluminous Original Mascara in Blackest Black $7.29 - Sweet
This is my first time trying L'Oreal's Voluminous Original Mascara. It has a full fluffy brush. Not a lot of mascara comes out on the brush, which is good. It separated my lashes. Definitely made them longer and gave them more volume. It gives a very lightweight and natural look. The way you would want your lashes to look at WORK. For evening or a party, this may not give you enough! You guys know I've recently become smitten with Tarte's Maneater Mascara (which is a nice balance between party & work). This mascara comes in 5 colors if bought on its own. This is also my first time trying L'Oreal's Infallible Never Fail Eyeliner! In fact, I've never even heard of it. LOL I'm really impressed with this creamy eyeliner. It IS budge proof for 16 hours! I used my hand to rub it and it didn't budge. I ran water over it, rubbed and it didn't budge. Only my cleansing balm removed it and I had to use a wash cloth to thoroughly remove it. This eyeliner also has a smudger, but you better smudge before it sets. Once it sets, there's no moving! LOL I also want to mention that this is a lighter black than you think. To get the black that I achieved on the back of my hand, you have to go over it twice. But the quality definitely exceeds the price. I'm impressed. This is a great set to try everything here! To purchase all of these separately would cost a little over $44. But if some of these don't float your boat, it's great you can purchase things separately (I included individual costs for each item). What has been your experience with L'Oreal makeup?
I love Loreal eyeshadows too, I have some I bought a couple of years ago and they are still some I use regularly. That lipstick is gorgeous, the perfect red for festive season!!! xx

I totally agree Kim! Loreal has always made some of the best drugstore eyeshadows. Both shades in this kit are super pretty and holiday perfect. I bet that red lipstick looks gorgeous on you :D

This set does sound great, Kim:) I actually really like L'Oreal although I haven't used the line in a long time. I think they do the best mascaras...better than some higher end ones. And agree with Rowena...that lippie must look fab on you!
ReplyDeleteI lovvvvve that lipstick shade. What a beautiful tone of red. I've never really used L'Oreal aside from their mascara's which I've practically used my whole life. I've only stopped because I started getting eye lash extensions so I don't need it anymore. But I did dabble prior with other brands (most paying double what I usually pay wit L'Oreal) and found myself still preferring L'Oreal

I can't remember the last time I used drugstore makeup, but wow these eyeshadows are gorgeous! A smudge-proof eyeliner is a must have for me as well, and right now I swear by the MJ highliners, but I think I need to give the L'oreal eyeliner a try now. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteI'll be honest, Kim - I know lots of people get great results from L'Oreal, but I've never found their products lived up to the hype. At least on me. I'm glad that they work for so many people because their pricing is very affordable, which is such a bonus.
