Last February, I reviewed
Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Sucre! I must admit, I was initially smitten with it's packaging. The perfume bottle is outfitted in a cute golden cupcake/candy holder with white-icing gracing the top of the bottle. I'm happy to say, I really like the perfume! I'm glad that I do, because it is a HUGE bottle! HaHaHa Well I've always wanted to try other Juicy Couture perfumes. My blog buddy Desle of Diva Desle reviewed
Viva La Juicy Gold Couture, so I picked that up. I also purchased Viva La Juicy Noir. These two fragrances are like night & day! Viva La Juicy Gold Couture is considered a "warm" scent to me. It's officially described as "a decadent rendition of Viva la Juicy that indulges the senses with
luscious wild berries, a kiss of honeysuckle and a luxurious elixir of
golden amber, melted caramel, and vanilla." For me it starts off smelling fruity, but as it dries down you start to smell the vanilla, caramel and amber. It's really nice. You have to give this perfume a good 20-30 minutes to dry down, to really see how it smells on you (or works with your chemistry). It's very soft, but very nice. The bottle itself is a heavy plastic (but looks like glass). The perfume is encased in a gold-like shell, with the Juicy Couture logo in gold and Couture in pink script on the outer bottle. It's adorned with a black polka-dot bow. Viva La Juicy Noir is a "cool" scent to my nose. It's officially described as, "a rich interpretation of the signature Viva la Juicy scent, Viva la
Juicy Noir highlights the succulent ripe berry notes and gourmand
accents, while adding a juicy touch of honeysuckle and a sultry hint of
sandalwood." To my nose, it's ALL BERRIES & wine! It reminds me of a glass of dark wine. I thought it would be a little more sultry & sexy. But again, perfumes work differently with everyone's chemistry. It smells nice on me, but I was expecting more. It's very soft. I love the bottle! Beautiful black satin bow. Saucy purple color. Out of the two, I love Gold Couture. Out of the three I still love Sucre! Juicy Couture perfumes are very high priced! Overall, I think they're a little overrated. I just find the perfume scents don't last very long. What has been your experience with Juicy Couture? Let me know below!

I have the original viva la juicy and it’s always been a favorite of mine! I’ve smelled others in stores but I’m not sure if I’ve smelled these two before! They both sound nice and something that I’d like, so I’ll have to look for them! Thanks for sharing yours thoughts, Kim! The packagings look pretty!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love Juicy Couture as a brand and their perfumes - I prefer sweeter scents so they're great! :)

While I've never been a huge fan of Juicy as a brand, I have really liked most of their scents and have worn all three of the ones you've mentioned in this post over the years! To be honest, I'm not sure I could choose a favourite, and I will also say that they aren't scents I would come back to over and over, but they are each fun to wear in their own way.

This post reminds me of when I went candle shopping and saw a candle labelled Mulled Wine and thought it would smell rich and spicy like Christmas but when I opened it to sniff the scent I almost dropped the candle because it smells of straight up alcohol, like you have just walked past the drunkest person in the bar. My point is although it does sound sophisticated I don't want to smell like a glass of wine, a shame because the description sounds so promising. Great review! Xx

There is one JC scent I like but can't remember which one now. I never did get the chance to buy it coz I do agree that they're not the cheapest. Thanks for the honest review on these scents, Kim:)
ReplyDeleteI have two Viva LA Juicy fragrances that I adore!

I don't like when perfumes don't last long. The packaging is adorable though.

Thanks for such a detailed description of the scents! So helpful!

I have never smelled their scents but I do love those bows!
ReplyDeleteI know many people love the Juicy perfumes, but I've yet to try any of them. I think it's because it brings me memories of the track suits and the Paris Hilton times that I wanted to forget, haha. Don't get me wrong, I loved their track suits and always wanted them (why so expensive?). I'll have to finally test them out. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, beauty, and I hope you're having a great week so far!

These bottles are certainly eye catching Kim! I guess Viva la Juicy Noir would be good if one doesn't mind smelling like wine which is actually appealing to some people LOL Viva La Juicy Gold Couture sounds lovely though. I'm always surprised that JC fragrances are as expensive as they are.
ReplyDeleteThere is something about the Juicy C brand that I do not like, bags, clothing... its just not me. So I would probably not even try these perfumes...
ReplyDeleteI have the scents Viva La Juicy and Viva La Juicy Noir. I really like both but reach for the Noir more. I would love to try the Gold Couture but they are pretty pricey!
ReplyDeleteOh I love the description of the Noir scent Kim! :)
ReplyDeleteMy sister loves these perfumes and picks them up on her trips to the US. I even got her some in a Nordstrom sale one year. I borrowed one once for a night out but I don't think it was either of these, it's hard to remember as she has so many of the scents, haha!
Hope that you are having a good week so far! I've returned to work this week which was a bit of a shock after a month off over Christmas, ha!

I love the gold couture fragrance. I only wear it in Winter as you said it is a warm scent. I have not come across the Noir fragrance. I love to drink red wine but I don't want to smell like it. 😂💖
ReplyDeleteOh wow Kim, this takes me back! I used to love my Juicy perfume but haven't tried any of their newer releases. I must have a sniff the next time I'm passing the perfume counter!

These fragrances should smell very nice, I really liked the presentation and the shape of the bottles. Kisses!
ReplyDeleteI have never been a fan of Juicy Couture fragrances as I find them all to be too sweet for my liking. I am also not a fan of the packaging.

I honestly don't use fancy perfumes so I don't know, haha. I'm a Bath&Body Works body spray type of girl xD

I'm such a fan of their Couture Couture perfume. I picked it up at TJ Maxx for around $10 when I first went to the USA and oh man what a buy! Everyone always compliments me on it too. I wouldn't min trying Gold Couture. I love fruity scents but also loving the other notes that become more pronounced with time. I don't think I've ever met a scent that does this hahaha
