Anastasia Beverly Hills DIPBROW POMADE in Medium Brown and BROW WIZ in Soft Brown Review and Swatches

A well defined brow, can really make a difference in your completed makeup look. I never dabbled with filling in my eyebrows before until I collaborated with IT Cosmetics last year and tried their Brow Power. This led me to want to try other brands and of course led me to the Queen of Eyebrows Anastasia Beverly Hills. I purchased her DIPBROW POMADE in Medium Brown and #12 Duo Brow Eyeliner Angled Cut Spooley Brush. I want to preface this by saying, the color is a little darker than I expected. You don't need much of this pomade! A little goes a long way, because it is highly pigmented. You're suppose to use the spoolie to brush your eyebrows upward and then use the other end to make hair-like strokes within your existing eyebrows. Let me emphasize that you should use LIGHT STROKES. I used light strokes, but it still gave me a "heavy-looking" brow. Even though it's the wrong color (1st picture), I just don't think her DIPBROW POMADE is for me. Don't worry, this pot won't go to waste. I can use it as eyeliner. It does a great job staying put. A deluxe sample of her Brow Wiz in Soft Brown came with my order. I much prefer not only the color, but also its pencil form. Other companies have come out with this form as well. I think consumers prefer the pencil-spoolie option over pomade. As you can see, it gives me a softer brow look. But honestly, I prefer the IT Cosmetics Brow Power. I feel it's creamier. The only negative is Brow Power only comes in ONE color. ABH offers shades 10-11 shades. Both products are great, but it's a matter of what you want to achieve. I've seen others create BEAUTIFUL looks with the pomade. But it's just too much for me. ABH has also come out with a BROW DEFINER! It looks similar to the Brow Wiz but has a thicker pencil and spoolie. I have a hunch its better. Will try. The BROW WIZ has a thinner point.

  2. I definitely prefer the second one on you! It's great that although you can't use this for your eyebrows you can use it for your eyes - such a clever idea Kim! :)

Hope you are having a lovely start to your week! It's so hot here, another heatwave!

  3. I can't remember what first prompted me to start filling in my eyebrows a bit each morning, but I did start doing it about four years ago. Since then, bigger brows have come into fashion and it seems everyone else is doing it, too! I still stick to the way I've always done it, which no one would recommend, using a dark brown eyeshadow. It works well for me and I've gotten very good at drawing the perfect shape over the years. Which is why, despite all the rave reviews I've heard about Dip Brow, I've never tried it - sometimes, when something works, it just works. But I admit, I am still intrigued by this product ;)

  4. I think you look great in both pics, Kim! The second one looks great for everyday, you totally pulled off the thicker look as well. My younger sis loves ABH products and I've been meaning to try them because of the pigmentation and colour selection:)

  5. I need to try the pomade, my best friend uses it all the time and damn I'm so jealous of his eyebrows - literally, I don't know if it's ABH magic or if he's talented in makeup but eyebrows are a thing which he can draw perfectly and never mess up while my eyebrows sometimes ask me why they are not twins but strangers.

  6. I’ve wanted to try out the ABH brow pomades for so long! I’m kind of scared to use them for some reason though lol!! I’m so use to using a pencil. I use to use the brow wiz all the time, but the nyx micro brow is pretty much identical and half the price!

  10. Kim, I 'm so glad you reviewed the Brow Wiz because I was recently wondering if it was as good as people say it is. It does give your brows definition but the look is definitely softer and way more natural than the pomade. I'll have to add this to my list :)

  11. I used to use the Dip Brow but your right, its very heavy. I ended up switching to brow powder and now I use brow pencils and sometimes add powder too. I have never tried the Brow Whiz. I use the Nyx MicroBrow which I hear is very similar. I love it but I can't compare it since I never tried the ABH one. I should pick it up some time just to see the difference between the two.

  12. I have the brow pomade and I love it so much. It lasts such a long time. A little goes a long way. I also love that it does not dry out. I have mine for more than a year and it's still easy to apply and blend.

  13. It was until recently that i realised people filled in their eyebrows.... i never have and had not considered it until I was getting my make up done and the MU artist said one eyebrow was longer than the other and drew a small line to make them even.
