Murad Pore Extractor Pomegranate Mask Review

Curiosity led me to purchase Murad's Pore Extractor Pomegranate Mask ($38)! A mask that pulls gunk out and unclogs your pores!?! I want to try! HaHaHa Murad describes this mask as an intensive pink clay pore mask ... powered by pomegranate ... that unclogs pores, lifts and exfoliates dead skin cells. It has Volcanic Clay, which acts like a magnet to help extract impurities from deep within pores. It also has Pomegranate Extract, which promotes glowing skin for visibly refined pores and cleaner, smoother skin. So let me share my experience! I have dry, sensitive skin. So I really took a chance using this. I applied this mask to my face. It's moist, cool & creamy! It felt really good to my skin. I love the pink color and the bits of pomegranate in the mask. The directions say to apply it to areas prone to enlarged pores. Leave it on for 10 minutes. Use warm water to work it in (exfoliate) and then wash with warm water. I applied it all over my face and did everything else above. It stayed cool. I didn't experience any burning or redness. After I removed the mask, I looked at my skin in the mirror. The hard to get blackheads in the crease of my nose were GONE! The little white stuff on the side of my nose and chin were pulled out of my pores. I was amazed! It did pull the gunk out of my skin. But I also noticed a little white flaking of my skin atop my nose and a little on the cheek area. But my skin was smooth, soft and glowing! I applied IT Cosmetics Miracle Water (it did not burn) and it instantly hydrated my skin and moisturized my skin with IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Cream. THIS MASK IS NOT DESIGNED FOR DRY SKIN on a regular basis! I would use this once a month or once every two weeks or as needed. THIS MASK IS FOR COMBINATION, OILY and ACNE PRONE SKIN (AS MENTIONED ON THEIR SITE)! Even with those skin types, I wouldn't use this 2-3 times per week as suggested. It's REALLY GOOD, but don't let the baby pink color fool you! It's POWERFUL! I hope this review helps you. On the topic of exfoliation, a fellow blog buddy of mine Jen of Geeky Posh Blog wrote a really informative post about exfoliation. One can exfoliate way too much and actually harm the skin. I haven't exfoliated in MONTHS and look how my skin reacted. It was a minor reaction, but still a reaction. You really have to be careful. This is an excellent product, because it works! But you must take into account your skin type before using this product. If you're looking for something gentler, may I suggest Murad's Skin Smoothing Polish! It's great for dry skin types! I loved it. I've reviewed a lot of Murad skincare products, click on the link to read them.

  3. It looks good enough to eat, haha!

It's great it gave you such good results, although a shame it can't be a regular use option for you as it dries out your skin a little. I used to do a clay mask once a week, I haven't looked at it in months, don't know if it's all dried up, haha! I should look it out, my skin would appreciate the TLC right now!

Hope that you have been having a good week Kim!

  4. Wow - I am so impressed by the results you got with this mask! So many masks that I've tried leave my skin soft and smooth but don't live up to any of their other claims. And the older I get, the more I really want to see results. I wouldn't use this often, but I'm definitely going to have to give it a try!

  7. It's good to hear that this mask really pulls the gunk out of your pores Kim! I don't think I need this but I think I may look into getting this mask for my husband since his pores have a tendency to get congested.

  8. Sounds like a great one! I am too lazy for masks but may need to use them when my husband and I move to a warmer climate and spend more time outside.

  10. I'm amazed this genuinely helped to remove blackheads from the hard-to-reach areas of your nose! I wonder if this could also help with general dry skin in that area too? Ooh, I like the sound of this being powerful - just the kind of skincare product I love! Thanks for the fab review Kim and I hope you have a wonderful weekend :)

  12. I want this because it’s pink LOL!! My skin is dry right now which is really unusual, but this is definitely something I’d try! Maybe when winter is over and my skin gets back to normal, everything is irritating it right now ha! I’m definitely putting this on my wish list. Thanks for sharing, Kim! That’s so awesome to know it actually works too!

  13. That's awesome that the mask works so well, and it's such a pretty pink color too! 😍 I've cut back on my usage of clay mask significantly, and when I do I only use it on my t-zones, otherwise my cheeks will get super tight and dry.
P.S. Thank you for the shoutout!

  17. I absolutely love Murad and have a few of their skincare products so this is something that I'm really interested in. It's great to see and sounds like it works a treat on skin!

So many of their products have a wonderful formulation which really target different skin problems and it's so nice to see that this really cleanses skin - great for pamper days!

Love it so will definitely check this out! :)

  18. This Murad polish sounds fab, Kim! And because you only have to use it about once a month, that means it'll last awhile:) Thanks for the heads up, and Happy Monday!

  21. Oh, I would love to try this. I haven't tried anything by Murad.

  22. I've don't never tried anything from Murad, but this looks like a dessert!!! I love exfoliating since I also have dry skin and need it to remove that build up for dry skin cells and flaky dry skin. I am very wary of it though and use both chemical and physical exfoliator, both gentle and stronger ones on a biweekly basis. I typically use clay masks only a few types in a month because I find that the clay can dry out my skin more but it does help withdrawing the impurities from my skin. This mask sounds absolutely amazing to have in my stash, I will purchase it soon and test it out!

  23. I think I'd like to give this mask a try. Back in the day I had oily skin and used clay masks. My skin has since adjusted and I haven't used any mask in a while. Great results Kim!

  25. Volcanic clay has been a hit lately especially with Korean skin care products. This seems like a promising product I would love to try when I get a breakout. I have been suffering from REALLY dry skin lately because of my poor skin care choices. I used to have oily skin so I used a toner meant for that. However, it eventually dried up my skin and it's affecting even my makeup routine. UGH.

Anyway, thanks for an honest review as always. ;)

  27. Ooh I adore pomegranate products. I love it when a facial product works out great. This one seems like it gives the face a good polish while being gentle.

  28. I've never used any of Murad's products before, but this mask sounds wonderful! I love that there's actual pieces of pomegranate inside. That kind of stuff excites me because I feel it's not so synthetic, you know? Plus, I love the pink color and I'm sure it smelt good, too. Thanks for sharing, beauty, I'll have to keep this one in mind since I have combination/oily skin. I hope you're having a great week so far!

  29. seems like the perfect mask for oily skin, still those with dry and sensitive better be careful. Clay is something that usually does a great job of cleaning the skin, but again those with sensitive skin need to watch out and not use it too often. My skin used to be it oily but now it is mixed so I'm not sure would this be good for me. I love that this masks contains pomegranate, as I'm a big fan of this fruit and I totally believe in its benefits.
