FACE Atelier Ultra Skin Foundation Review & Swatches

PR Sample - Are you guys ready for this? NO PRIMER needed with this foundation. NO POWDER needed with this foundation. I couldn't believe what I was reading, when I was sent FACE atelier's Ultra Skin Foundation Shade #6 (warm-light/medium olive complexion-yellow undertone) for review. Those are some lofty claims! FACE atelier states Ultra Skin is the ultimate lightweight foundation. "Its silicone-based formula perfects the skin with a long-lasting satin finish with light to medium buildable coverage. The creamy, soufflé-like texture produces an airbrush-like result and is perfect if you want a foundation that can be applied like a moisturizer without compromising performance." Let me break it down! This foundation comes in a tube with a pump. When dispensed it has a creamy, mousse-like texture. I tried application with my fingers, makeup brush and Beautyblender. I found that it worked best with a damp Beautyblender. Work in sections (face) and just "beat" the foundation into your skin. You may think it looks streaky when you first apply this, but this foundation melts into the skin (so don't worry about the streaks...it doesn't dry that way). I just recently had a very bad reaction to some retinol skincare that caused breakouts and this foundation did an amazing job covering up those dark spots, my freckles and the darkness under my eyes. This foundation can go from LIGHT TO FULL COVERAGE. I was very impressed with the coverage. I didn't need a primer. I didn't apply any powder afterwards. My skin had a healthy glow. One negative about this foundation, was I noticed some creasing under my eyes. So I used my Tarte Shape Tape and applied setting powder under my eyes. That corrected that problem. This foundation comes in 11 shades (hmmm) and is $50. There are 3 half shades you can use to either lighten or darken formulas. If you're antsy about ordering online, what's great about FACEatelier is that they offer samples of their foundation for $1...ONE DOLLAR...  $1 you guys! Get a sample to test for shade color and to see if you like the formula. I found it to be very lightweight, long-lasting and comfortable. Plus it hid all of my flaws. The longer I wore it, the better it looked. I also tried it with moisturizer and it still looked beautiful. This is really good, because if you're traveling and you don't want to pack a primer or your face powder, just pack this and it will get the job done. This is my first time trying anything from FACE atelier. They are Cruelty Free, PETA approved and also Leaping Bunny approved. They have a number of stores in the United States, Canada, and Internationally (Australia, Finland, Ireland, UK, UAE and more). Here's there Store Locator. Get a sample of this (ONE DOLLAR) and see how it works for you! They offer $1 samples for ALL OF THEIR PRODUCTS! Every company needs to follow their example.

  6. FACE atelier's Ultra Skin Foundation does offer great results. It looks lovely on you. It is great that you don't need a primer to use this foundation, and great to read about your good experience with it. It does sound like the ultimate foundation. Also I think it's awesome that the company is willing to send a one dollar tester. That seems like the perfect way to make sure the share is a match for our own skin shade. Lovely detail review, thanks for sharing.

  7. That's a great coverage on you, Kim:) When I freelanced as a makeup artist, FA was a part of my kit because they give great discounts to MUAs, and I loved their foundation. The customer service was also pretty fab! Glad to hear you liked the foundation.

  8. I don't use foundation primer - I've tried several but never really noticed a difference. I definitely set my foundation with powder, though, and I can't imagine not doing it. But the coverage you got with this is so beautiful, I admit that I'm intrigued!
