Hard Candy Fox In A Box Scented Marbleized Baked Powder in Glamour Girl, Uptown Girl and Party Girl Review and Swatches

PR Sample - I was sent full-size samples of Hard Candy's Fox In A Box Scented Marbleized Baked Powder ($7). I had to laugh when I saw the words "fox in a box". During my first professional job, the entire office went to a training. We had a break and the trainer (who was very FULL of himself) asked my boss, "whose the EYE CANDY?". My boss looked at him and gruffingly said, "that EYE CANDY is my new trainer!" Everyone in the department teased me about that for the longest. This also made me think of a fashion blog, Rox The Fox, I followed. She had such amazing style & had the best personality! She was so sweet. She stopped blogging unfortunately. I miss her. But anyway... Hard Candy wants to know, Which Fox Are You? They sent me 3 out of the 5 shades that are offered in this collection. Hard Candy describes these powders as multi-dimensional, sheer, buildable color that will give your skin a healthy and natural glow. They're formulated with finely milled mica pigments that blend seamlessly into the skin. I find that the box of powders really mimic Benefit Cosmetics box of powders, minus the mirror. These have magnetized lids, so they shut tight. You don't have to worry about anything falling out. Each box also comes with a Hard Candy brush for application. These are also scented. This is my first time trying makeup from the Hard Candy brand. I really like these, but I want to briefly talk about each below.

Sweet-Bittersweet-NotSweet
supersweet(run & buy it) sweet(really good,buy it) bittersweet(ok, issues)not sweet(not good,don't buy this stuff)

Hard Candy Fox In A Box: Glamour Girl - Pina Colada Scented (used as a highlighter) - Sweet
Glamour Girl has a Pina Colada Scent! I thought this would bother me, but it's a really nice scent. Kind of effervescent and uplifting. I would describe Glamour Girl as an antique champagne gold. It swatched beautifully on my hand. I can't see using this all over the face, but it's great as a highlighter. I didn't like the Hard Candy brush that came with each box, because I felt the bristles were too hard and you couldn't blend the product effectively. If you look at my picture below, you can see the highlighter is not blended into my makeup. The supplied brush won't allow it. So I suggest using one of your own makeup brushes. But the powder itself is lovely. If I had any suggestions for Hard Candy, I would suggest to lose the brush and add a mirror to these boxes. A mirror would be more beneficial. A blonde bombshell is the artwork for Glamour Girl.

Hard Candy Fox In A Box: Uptown Girl - Sweet Peach Scented (used as a highlighter) - Sweet
I would describe Uptown Girl as a Peachy Pink highlighter. It has an authentic peach scent. I love it. Instead of the Hard Candy brush, I used my own makeup brush and blended the powder into my skin (nose, cheeks). From my picture below, you can see my look was more polished than the one above. These are really good powders. I can't get over the price. I love the artwork on Uptown Girl. I live Uptown and it reminds me of myself.... credit card in one hand and shopping bags in another. HaHaHa I found these powders to really give your skin a nice lit within GLOW!

Hard Candy Fox In A Box: Party Girl - Chocolate Scented (used as a blush) - Supersweet
My absolute favorite out of the three is Party Girl! It's scented just like a chocolate candy bar. I was so use to the others being highlighters, I mistakenly slapped this on my nose and it was BROWN. LOL It also smelled just like CHOCOLATE! You can't use this one as a highlighter. Either a bronzer or blush. I LOVE THIS AS A BLUSH! It works so well with my skintone. I added extra pictures below. It's just a great NATURAL wash of color. Anyone that loves neutrals, will love this. The artwork on Party Girl is a girl rocking sunnies, headphones and showing the PEACE SIGN.

Hard Candy Fox In A Box Scented Marbleized Baked Powder
These can be found at Walmart and also on Walmart's website. They're really good! Just use your own makeup brushes to apply them. For $7, you can get all 5 without breaking the bank. Plus the designs on them are so cute and the boxes are sturdy. I'm impressed with the quality and will definitely try more Hard Candy makeup products. The other two not shown are Girl Boss and Girl Next Door. Have you tried anything from Hard Candy? Thank you Hard Candy for letting me try your products.

  3. It's always sad when a blogger just stops posting! I've lost touch with a few bloggers as they just suddenly stopped blogging one day, quite sad.

On a positive note though I love the shades you got to try here, even if the brushes weren't the best they sound like good value! :)

Hope you are having a great week so far! It's been a little rainy here but not too cold so I'm still enjoying wearing shorts, haha! Such a strange autumn!

  4. I loved Hard Candy products in my early teens, but I have to admit, I had totally forgotten about the brand until I saw the title of this post. I think it's become harder to find in Canada and, since I don't see it in local stores, I don't think of it. But these powders sound like such a great value and the results are beautiful. I'll be on the lookout for them on my next cross-border trip!

  5. The name Hard Candy seems like such a blast from the past. I didn't realize they were still around. I can see why the Party Girl is your favorite. The color looks so natural and pretty on you and it seems like it would be very versatile. And anything that smells like a chocolate bar should get bonus points:)

  8. This is a new introduction for me too - the packaging looks rather pretty, that's for sure :) It's funny to know the brush supplied doesn't quite the job, I often find that's the case and you instead need your own brushes - the ones you're used to! Have a lovely weekend Rowena :)

  13. You've sold me on Glamour Girl. Not that I need another highlighter but I'd get it just for that scent. Pina Colada! Mmmm. And OMG Rox The Fox! Yes I miss her too. She had such a wonderfully vibrant sense of style. Shame she isn't active anymore

  15. I had some Fox in the boxes blushes from hard candy a few years ago! I think they’ve changed the packaging and I’m not sure if they still make the ones I have. All three of these you have a gorgeous, especially that blush Kim!
