The description for
Benefit Cosmetic's NEW Gold Rush Blush ($29), sent me to La La Land! A nectar-colored blush with gold in it! I immediately thought, nectar is the new peach! You guys know I was on my peach kick last year. Nectar just sounds luscious and I love gold. I kept hearing so-so reviews about this blush, but I picked it up anyway to see for myself. So is it a Gold Rush or a Gold Bust!?! When I swatched this blush, I was like ooooh-this is light! I couldn't see it good against the black background I use for photos, so I had to step into the light. After stepping into the light, I kinda saw it! It wasn't until I applied it to my face and took pictures that I got a really good look. It's very pretty! It's a soft peachy color that has a hint of gold in it. I blew up my picture, so you can see it. I understand why some people don't like this blush. Peachy colors compliment me, but they don't look good on everyone. If I were you, I would swatch this at your local beauty store. I will enjoy wearing this blush this Summer. I added
Kylie Cosmetic's Poppin Gloss to top off my peachy-golden vibe. I'm a big fan of Benefit's box of blushes. I've tried
Dandelion,
Galifornia, and
here are some swatches of the older ones. Rockateur and Sugarbomb are really pretty. I love the packaging for this blush and the blush itself has texture just like a gold nugget. This blush is light & fresh! Swatch it and give it a try.
