AHAVA Dead Sea Water Mineral Hand Cream

I received this deluxe sample of AHAVA's Mineral Hand Cream (full size is $24) from a Nordstrom purchase. This is another brand, I rarely try. That needs to change, because this hand cream smells so good! It's clean & fresh. You feel as if you're on a beach. Scratch that...not any old beach! An exclusive beach, where the water is pure blue and the sand is white! LOL The scent for this hand cream is very authentic. AHAVA is a vegan brand; they're also paraben-free and hypoallergenic. This mineral hand cream promises to quickly nourish dry skin. It's made with nutrient rich Dead Sea Water. It promises to replenish skin with 21 essential minerals, including magnesium, calcium, and potassium. I found it to be a really good hand cream. It's non-greasy, non-sticky, a very lightweight lotion (non-heavy). But it wasn't as moisturizing as I expected. I wish it was a little more moisturizing (should work for other skin types). I noticed on their website, they have a Dermud Intensive Hand Cream ($31) if you're super dry (like me)! I think I will check that one out. This one's good, but my dry skin needs a little more. One of my goals this year, was to use up all of the hand creams & body lotions in my collection. They can really add up! You buy! Your friends buy! I will complete that goal. I hate for anything to expire, let alone throw away. I can't wait until next year, because I've noted some new lotions I want to try.

Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner Primer Review

Face Primers. I've learned a lot about face primers this year. There are primers for different skin types (dry skin, oily skin etc). There are primers (water-based, silicone-based primers) that work better with corresponding foundations. I learned this the hard way, while trying the new NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation. I initially hated it, because I used the wrong type of primer with the foundation. Now I love it! The wrong primer, will MESS UP your foundation! It will cause it to not adhere, slide, streak and many other ugly things. So that brings me to today's lesson! READ PEOPLE! READ! I heard glorious things about Dr. Brandt's Pores No More Pore Refiner Primer ($45). I ordered it BEFORE I dealt with the whole NARS situation (and learning about primers). My go to primer has been Smashbox and honestly it worked with everything until I got to the new NARS Foundation. So anyway, I applied Dr. Brandt's Pores No More to my face and my face looked really dry. Very matte. Then it started pilling. I was like, WHAT IS GOING ON? I knew it said pore refiner, but my Smashbox does that and I never experienced THIS. Well, you guys....at the bottom of the box it says OILY/COMBINATION SKIN! In the middle of the box it says, ABSORBS OIL MATTIFIES SHINE! Yep! That's what it says! I have super dry skin. This primer does its job, but it's not for my skin type. So anyone with dry skin, stay away from this. LOL It's not a pretty look! Look at my hand below. Yeah, you DO NOT want that look on your face. So I can't rate this, but I thought this review would be helpful. Read everything! LOL Dr. Brandt does have a luminizer primer...NOW! So eventually I will try it and see how it goes. Of course, I will let you know!

Everything You Need to Transform Your Bathroom

You come home from a long day at work and wish you could unwind your muscles and clear your head with a luxury spa treatment. But not everyone is a fan of heading out for a day at the spa. Whether you're short on time, on a budget or embracing your inner celebrity, you can create your own spa at home. According to People, Khloe Kardashian prefers giving herself at-home spa treatments and stocking up on plenty of luxury touches for her bathroom from bath mats to bath salts to relax.

We're thinking Khloe Kardashian probably isn't on much of a budget when shopping for the latest bathroom luxuries, but you can transform your bathroom to reflect your own luxury style on a budget. Here’s how to get started.

The right shower curtain
Shower curtains are often overlooked in a bathroom in favor of a stunning vanity, a fresh coat of paint, or exquisite mirror. In reality, a designer shower curtain can transform your entire bathroom and give it a boost of glamour in just minutes. Choose from decorative shower curtains with ivy detailing, tassels or ruffles that speak to your favorite style. And remember your shower curtain hooks can also give your bathroom a style boost and tie together the entire room.

A luxurious bath mat
Have you ever stepped out of the bathtub or shower and felt like you wanted to just lie down and devour the softness? A quality bath mat can give your feet comfort and give your bathroom a touch of color at the same time. Choose materials that are easy to clean, impossibly plush and in a color that enhances the entire room.

Impossibly fluffy towels
The right bathroom towels can make or break your bath time experience. Old towels with worn down fibers and holes don’t speak to a luxurious bathroom. Instead, you need impossibly fluffy towels that you can wrap yourself in afterward. Think of the oversized styles high-end hotels and spas offer and recreate that for yourself at home. Spray with your favorite relaxing essential oils like lavender for one last touch of luxury before slipping on a fluffy robe.

Elegant lighting
There’s no rule that says you have to keep the same uninspired lighting your home came with. Instead of standard overhead lights or recessed lighting, choose a faux chandelier to add an elegant touch to your bathroom. A chandelier with a touch of color or shaped like a globe adds even more personality to your lighting. And don't forget the tealight and pillar candles for an inexpensive option to transform your bathroom lighting.

Scents and sounds
Creating a home spa needs plenty of touches like the right shower curtain and towels, but also requires the right scents and sounds. Stock up your supply of essential oils, bath salts, and aromatherapy inspired candles and load up Spotify with your favorite songs to relax to. The next time you take a bubble bath, load up on lavender and your favorite scents and lay back on a towel or spa pillow and relax.

Transforming your bathroom doesn't have to take a lot of time or money. Start with the basics like a designer shower curtain and stock up on all your favorite scents to emulate the spa feel you’re looking for. You'll soon find the bathroom is your new favorite room in the house.
