Algenist's Genius Liquid Collagen is pretty expensive! How expensive? $115.00 a bottle expensive. So I was happy to get a deluxe sample of this in my Sephora order. We all know that collagen production slows down as we age. That can lead to wrinkles & saggy skin. We've all heard of
hyaluronic acid (which is naturally produced in our bodies), so what is
alguronic acid? It's man-made by Algenist. It's a mix of algae extracts "claiming" to have anti-aging benefits for the skin. So this is suppose to help with loss of firmness with the skin, elasticity, dullness and uneven texture. Algenist goes on to say, "The anti-aging formula contains 13,000 microalgae oil beads naturally
sourced and sustainably produced, omegas 3, 6, and 9, and a natural
source of vitamin E. Skin is left more resilient, brighter, and
youthful-looking." This liquid collagen is also paraben, sulfate and phthalate free. I know this is just a deluxe sample, but four drops covered my entire face. I was able to get many uses from it. It's golden yellow with little beads in the liquid collagen. It felt really good when I applied it to my skin. It gradually dries down, but not completely. You're to have a clean face, apply this and then a moisturizer. My skin felt plump to the touch, but it didn't look plump when I looked in the mirror. Nor did any of my fine lines look any better. I wasn't impressed guys. I saw no improvements. My skin felt soft. My skin had a glow. But I can achieve that with other products such as
Fresh's Vitamin Nectar Moisture Glow Face Cream, without paying this hefty price tag. I don't mind expensive products, but I expect to see results. They show a lady's under-eye area on their website (before & after picture). I just see small results. I don't think it's impressive.
