Smith & Cult Feathers & Flesh Nail Lacquer and One Word Chorus Lip Gloss Review & Swatches

Not Sponsored: Smith & Cult was created by Dineh Mohajer (she also created the brand Hard Candy). The products under the Smith & Cult umbrella are nail lacquer, lip glosses & stains, eyeshadow, eyeliner & mascara, blushes, bronzers and highlighters. Did you know they made all of that? I didn't. They're really known for their nail lacquer. Their bottle stands out from other brands. Below are my thoughts on two products I purchased from Smith & Cult.

Sweet-Bittersweet-NotSweet
supersweet(run & buy it) sweet(really good,buy it) bittersweet(ok, issues)not sweet(not good,don't buy this stuff)

Smith & Cult One Word Chorus Lip Gloss $22 - Sweet
One Word Chorus is described by Smith & Cult as quiet + nude + gold shimmer. Interesting huh? It's a richly, pigmented gloss that lays beautifully on the lips. It even smells like candy! The packaging is sophisticated. It's see-through design showcases this beautiful pink-ish nude with gold shimmer sprinkles lip gloss. It's topped off with Smith & Cults signature gold "dented" top. The top twists open to reveal a doe foot applicator. This gloss looks great on the lips. The wear time is amazing. It doesn't just come off when you sip something to drink or eat. Initially it does feel like a gloss. There's stick. There's tack. But let it work in and all of that goes away. When I looked at my picture, I said to myself this color looks like my lips, but better. I remember saying that about another product. Then I remembered IT Cosmetics Vitality Lip Flush Butter Gloss in Naturally Pretty (review here). The IT Cosmetics lip gloss doesn't have the gold shimmer, but the color is really similar. It's another option. Just throwing it out there :)

Smith & Cult Feathers & Flesh Nail Lacquer $18 - Sweet
Feathers & Flesh has been discontinued, but I did find a site where they have a few left (click HERE). Before I get into my review, Smith & Cult is known for discontinuing nail lacquers. They keep best-sellers and award winners, but are constantly introducing NEW colors. So if you see something you like, GET IT! If you fall in love with a color you like, GET MULTIPLES. I'm not a huge nail junky, so one bottle is enough for me. On their website, I counted 32 nail polishes (of which 8 were NEW PRODUCTS).  A color that looks very similar to this is Doe My Dear. Performance! This nail lacquer lays beautifully, dries quickly. I would suggest a top coat. It lasts longer with one, than without. It performs like all other well known brands of nail polishes. Lasting for at least 5 days. The bottle is pretty to look at, but because of its size it does take up room (at least on my nail rack). The weight of the bottle is heavy, but luxurious.
