PR Sample: Pixi Beauty sent me their full collection of Pixi by Petra MatteLast Liquid Lipsticks ($14) to review. There are eleven (11) shades in total and five (5) of those shades are brand new. Pixi states these liquid lipsticks are matte, long-wearing, hydrating, full-on colour, infused with rosehip oil, not tested on animals and are paraben free. I've been testing these out for several weeks now. Let me tell you what's great! There's a beautiful assortment of colors to choose from ... nudes to beiges ... rose shades & pinks ... oranges, reds & berries. There's something here for everyone. I love the packaging. It's very sleek. Plus you can easily see the lip color. Every color is highly pigmented. They smell like candy. Another positive is these mattes don't crack or peel. Pixi states they're hydrating, I wouldn't go that far, but they don't feel dehydrating or super dry on the lips. So where do things falter? Well, it's a bunch of little things that seem to add up (at least for me). 1. The Pixi Petal Applicator - It's soft. It feels great to the lips. But it's a little long in my opinion. It's easy to go outside your lip line because of its length. I have very full lips, so I can imagine how this can be problematic for someone with thinner lips. Also a lot of product comes out on the lip applicator. So you really have to be careful applying these to your lips. 2. One swipe gives you color, but I needed to do two swipes just to even things out. 3. There's minimal transfer with the lighter colors, but more for the darker colors. 4. You can look at my video, but water is not your friend. It will cause these to smudge. Also, I ate some egg drop soup and a lot of the lipstick came off on the spoon. So it all comes down to what you have to do that day. No rain. Not a lot of eating or drinking. I know you're saying, well I have to re-apply my other lipsticks. It's the smudging factor that concerns me. Again, especially with the darker shades. If it gets out of whack, you could look like the joker. LOL Watch my video to see these in action. You'll see them swatched on my hand & lips. They're nice, but I just don't think they're $14 nice for what you have to worry about. My favorites were Really Rose, Evening Rose and Really Red. If you plan on getting Berry Boost, it is the only one that is more like a lip stain. It can be very streaky and requires several careful applications. Pixi is also giving us an opportunity to make our own shade for consideration. I love the PR Packaging for this lipstick. How cute is the personal letter & envelope design! These were winners of the 2017 UK Cosmopolitan Beauty Awards.
