Shea Shea Bakery: Banana Pudding & Sugar Cookie Candle

Not Sponsored: One of my goals for 2019 is to try some products from indie brands (smaller brands). Some products from Shea Shea Bakery (Instagram) caught my eye. I placed a huge order the beginning of this year and I'm ready to share my thoughts with you. This will be a seven-part series. For some background on Shea Shea Bakery click here.

Shea Shea Bakery Signature Sugar Cookie Candle - Bittersweet
It looks delicious.  It looks so real. The details are absolutely amazing. The jar looks like it is filled with white creamy frosting. Nestled in the frosting are these faux mini sugar cookies with candy-colored sprinkles. Turn the jar 360 degrees and there is yummy-ness in every square inch of the jar. How's the scent? Its very light. I agree with Shea Shea Bakery that you smell vanilla and sugar. Nutmeg? I didn't pick up on it. Again, the scent is very light to my nose. I purchased the 8oz jar. It burned nicely and cleanly. The wick does stay long, so you have to trim it down. I thought when I burned it, that I would pick up a stronger scent but I didn't. I even asked my mom if she smelled anything and her reply was no. She felt it was pretty but there was no scent. The aesthetics of the candle would get a supersweet rating, but there's barely any scent. So that is why I give this a bittersweet rating. I've had this candle since January. It's handmade. So I don't know if I should've burned it sooner. It had a slightly stronger scent when I purchased it, but it was nothing earth-shattering like OH MY THIS SMELLS GOOD! Pretty to look at, but only buy it for that reason. I can only go by the one I received which didn't have much scent. From their website, the SPRINKLES are real!

Shea Shea Bakery Banana Pudding Candle - Bittersweet
Another candle, I ordered was their Banana Pudding Candle. Again, SUPER CUTE! It looks like creamy banana pudding with vanilla wafers mixed in. I was drawn to this because my grandfather made this all the time. The scent I picked up was more of a vanilla scent than banana. This candle burned slower than the sugar cookie one (but as you can see from the pictures below it was filled to the top of the jar.) Shea Shea Bakery states this candle is blended with vanilla, banana and buttercream. Again, it's more vanilla to my nose and the scent is very light. I burned the candle and I didn't pick up a scent. I loved how both candles looked. They're beautiful and well put together. I was just shocked that the scent was almost non-existent. I love candles. I've tried many. So I was shocked with these. Disappointed :(
