I love Drunk Elephant's packaging. Its so pretty. In the past, some Drunk Elephant products worked for me and some did not. You can read my past reviews here. None of their cleansers worked for my dry, sensitive and reactive skin. So I knew their new cleansing balm would either be a HIT OR A MISS. Well not only is it a HIT...it's a HIT IT OUT OF THE BALL PARK HIT! Yes, I get kind of excited when I SUPER DUPER LOVE SOMETHING. There's so much to love about this cleansing balm. I already told you the packaging is cute. But Drunk Elephant has also included a MAGNETIZED spoon atop the jar lid! GAME CHANGER! No more scooping balm with your fingers and onto your face. Use the spoon! You can't lose the spoon, because its magnetized! It adheres to the lid of the jar. Very nice DE! VERY NICE! Now the BIG QUESTION!?! DOES IT WORK??? Yaaasss! Now let me tell you how its different from my FAVORITE cleansing balm, Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm, which I also gave a Supersweet Rating. Drunk Elephant's formula is a little more lightweight and creamier than Cliniques. BOTH melt the makeup on your face upon contact (SUPER FAST). Clinique doesn't have a spoon :( BUT HERE IS THE GAME CHANGER! Drunk Elephants formula is not as drying/stripping to the skin AND my skin felt SUPER DUPER SOFT after using the Drunk Elephant cleansing balm. My skin felt so good! It felt clean. It felt soft. It felt nourished. This is MORE than just removing your makeup. It's also effective as a cleanser. Price point? Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm is $29.50 (SIZE: 3.8 oz). Drunk Elephant Slaai Makeup Melting Butter Cleanser is $34.00 (SIZE 3.88 oz). But I'm willing to pay the extra $4.50. I LOVE CLINIQUES cleansing balm. I really do. But Drunk Elephant's balm is BETTA! It is! Drunk Elephant's cleansing balm removes makeup, dirt, sunscreen and waterproof makeup. Its for normal, dry, combination and oily skin types. It has a "Fruit Salad Blend: A mix of non-fragrant soothing fruit extracts (blueberry, kiwi, and strawberry) and replenishing fruit oils (cranberry seed oil, açai fruit oil, and watermelon seed oil) that help comfort and moisturize skin." I want to mention, it has a wax scent. That's the only negative I can think of with this product. But I don't put my nose in my cleansing balms anyway. Drunk Elephant goes on to say that it has a, "Nourishing Oil Blend: A mix of moisturizing and lightweight oils such as marula seed, baobab seed, kalahari melon seed, mongongo, and ximenia that protect and nourish skin." All of this will make your skin feel DREAMY! This cleansing balm is 100% Free of essential oils, silicones, fragrance and PEGs. Irritant-free. Drunk Elephant also includes a vial. That vial is a, "Bamboo Booster: Bamboo and charcoal powder gently exfoliate away built-up dead, dry skin." I tried it and it worked really well. If you have dry, sensitive or reactive skin I wouldn't use the charcoal but once a week. I didn't have any reactions, but I was a little red under my eyes after using it (but the red dissipated within minutes). A note from the founder is included with this cleansing balm. Tiffany states, "I'm not going to lie, this wasn't an easy formulation to make and I thought this day would never come, but it has. I'm so excited to finally introduce ... Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser. Well Tiffany, my skin loves it. So great job!
