Lancome Paris | Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation and Effacernes Waterproof Long-Lasting Undereye Concealer Review and Swatches

Not Sponsored: I've just finished using my two bottles of NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation and umpteenth bottle of Too Faced Born This Way Foundation. I wanted to try something different (you know me), so I decided to get color-matched for Lancome's Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation and Effacernes Waterproof Long-Lasting Undereye Concealer. I've always heard great things about their foundation and everyone that wears it always looks so beautiful. I've been testing it out for a couple of months, so let me share my thoughts with you below.

When the lady selected this bottle of foundation I had an inner conversation with myself ... whoa, whoa, whoa! ... that looks a little LIGHT! HaHaHa When applying it to my face, she said its light but it OXIDIZES. I said to myself, I hope so! :D I took a picture of myself with no makeup on and then with the Lancome foundation. This is a light to medium coverage foundation (you can still see my freckles). It doesn't feel heavy on the skin. It has SPF 15 coverage. It provides up to 24 hour wear and is transfer resistant. Its a SOLID foundation that works and looks great on the skin. I used a makeup sponge to apply this foundation. I've been using this foundation with Bobbi Brown's Vitamin Enriched Face Base. I've been getting a lot of great wear out of it this Summer; the heat & humidity in Louisiana is BRUTAL. This foundation has held up through it all. Lancome offers this foundation in an array of shades and undertones, so I would definitely get color matched instead of trying to do it yourself. Overall, I'm very pleased with this foundation. You'll notice I have some darkness under my eyes and also my chin area. No matter what foundation I use I always need CONCEALER for those areas. So I asked the lady to pick out a concealer for me as well. How did that work out?

Lancome Paris | Effacernes Waterproof Long-Lasting Undereye Concealer (220 Clair II) - Bittersweet
(can be purchased at Nordstrom, Dillards, ULTA, Bergdorf Goodman, Harrods, Saks Fifth Avenue)
This is an under-eye concealer. She applied a small amount under my eyes and dabbed it with her fingers. It looked great. However since I've been using it and taking pictures, I feel it doesn't give me the coverage that Becca's Undereye Brightening Corrector and Tarte Shape Tape Concealer gives me. I even tried it on my chin area, but the coverage I need is just not there (you can see from my pictures below). It's a thick & heavy concealer, but its effectiveness is just not there if you really need COVERAGE. If you apply MORE, then it gets really heavy and cakey on the skin.
