Not Sponsored: Acne? Oil? I don't suffer from acne. I don't have oily skin. I have dry skin. I never thought in a million years, I would buy ANY of these Sunday Riley acne products. So what made me purchase this kit? My doctor prescribed an antibiotic for me. It cleared up the problem, but left me with 3 bad breakouts on my chin. These weren't just pimples. They were three deep pimples from hell. LOL I used my trusty REN Clear Calm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser on these bad boys (it usually clears up any type of pimple I may get) but it just didn't make any headway with these. So then, haphazardly I used Murad's AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser & Sunday Riley's Good Genes. They started drying up and sloughing away. But then the Good Genes deluxe sample I had ran out LOL So I placed a FULL SIZE order for Good Genes and this Sunday Riley Space Race Kit (can be purchased at QVC, Dermstore, Free People, Neiman Marcus, Macy's, Bloomingdales, Sephora, Urban Outfitters, Birchbox) that contains their Martian Mattifying Melting Water Gel Toner, U.F.O. Acne Treatment Face Oil and Saturn Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask. I've had some wonderful results and wanted to share them with you. I want to give you my perspective, especially from having dry skin.

Sunday Riley | SATURN Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask- Sweet

The first product I used in this kit was the acne treatment mask. It contains 10% Sulfur. When I was a teen and bought OTC acne products, they would always dry not only the problem area out, but the rest of my skin as well. Well, not with this mask! I layered it all over my chin area and it only dried out the 3 stubborn pimples, the rest of my skin stayed the same. This promises to fight multiple forms of acne and prevent future breakouts. It DOES have a Sulfur scent! It is also a dirty green color. Alone, it is good but the real magic happens when you use the other two products in conjunction with this product.

Sunday Riley goes on to say, "This acne treatment mask contains maximum levels of sulfur to penetrate pores to dry and clear up existing acne while preventing new blemishes from forming. It treats multiple forms of acne, including blocked, congested pores, inflammatory acne, hormonal acne, and acne rosacea. Four percent niacinamide promotes clear skin, while boosting skin's healthy-looking radiance. Zinc PCA and bentonite clay help to clear impurities, reduce excess oil, and soothe the appearance of surface redness, without over-drying. Highly potent tea tree oil, standardized for high levels of terpinen-4-ol, partnered with manuka oil, purify the skin for a smooth and clear complexion after each use. Cruelty-Free, Sulfate-Free, Paraben-Free, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free, Phthalate-Free, Fragrance-Free, Vegan"

Sunday Riley | MARTIAN Mattifying Melting Water-Gel Toner - Sweet

After washing the mask above off my face, I used the toner. This is where I saw "bells and whistles". Again, green color. Sulfur scent. Phew! The toner is creamy and really sinks into the skin (fairly fast). It dries down and if you let it sit for a couple of hours those problem areas will start to slough off.  Again, it didn't dry out the other areas of my skin. It only dried up the pimples. These were so deep that it took about a week or two for them to go away. The lone bad one by my gland is almost gone. Have you heard of Manuka? It's stronger than Tea Tree Oil. It's just one of the effective ingredients besides Bentonite clay in this toner. This toner will also draw out any other impurities in your skin.

Sunday Riley goes on to say, "Martian toner is formulated to target oily and blemish-prone skin concerns. Bentonite clay instantly mattifies excess oil, while visibly reducing pore size. Marshmallow and green tea soothe and cool the signs of redness and sensitive skin, for a calmer-looking complexion, while cucumber and witch hazel extracts tone and tighten. Manuka (a stronger relative of tea tree oil), in conjunction with black cumin and magnolia bark extract, provides purifying properties to balance oily and problem skin conditions, promoting a visibly improved, clearer, smoother, shine-free complexion. Skin is visibly cleaner, mattified, refreshed, and prepped for further skincare or color application. Cruelty-Free, Sulfate-Free, Paraben-Free, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free, Phthalate-Free, Fragrance-Free, Vegan"

Sunday Riley | U.F.O. Acne Treatment Face Oil - Sweet

After the toner dried down, I used the face oil on my chin area. Sunday Riley states this face oil dries down quickly. It dries down, but not completely. So I wouldn't apply and go straight to bed. Green in color. Sulfur scent. This face oil contains, 1.5% Salicylic Acid. It's a medicated oil that helps to clear acne and blackhead causing build-up and debris from congested pores. This is also suppose to help with old acne discolorations. It seems that Martian and UFO are a great team. Because by morning, the top layer of those problem areas would slough away. You can probably get away with using the toner during the day, but I would only use the mask and face oil at night. I really like this set because they give you enough product to really see if it works for you and is effective. I'm going to use these three products until I get to the "core" of the last pimple. Then I'm going to switch over to Good Genes (lactic acid) to diminish the dark spots. Below is a current picture of me. You can see how those problem areas have dissipated (except for one). Now I have to just work on the discoloration. But my skin is NOT DRIED OUT :)

Sunday Riley goes on to say, "Tea tree oil and black cumin seed oil support clear skin, while hexylresorcinol and licorice naturally brighten the appearance of old acne discolorations for a more even-toned complexion. Counterbalancing the potentially drying effects of salicylic acid, milk thistle, and cucumber seed oil nourish the skin and smooth the appearance of lines and wrinkles, without leaving a greasy residue. Chamomile and neroli soothe stressed, blemish-prone skin."
