Bobbi Brown Extra Cleansing Balm Review And Demo Video

Not Sponsored: I've been reviewing a couple of Bobbi Brown's NEW skincare products this week. Yesterday, I reviewed her newly re-formulated Extra Repair Moisture Cream Intense moisturizer. Today I'm reviewing her NEW Extra Cleansing Balm (Nordstrom, Harrods, Macys, Bloomingdale's, Bobbi Brown, Selfridges). I love a good makeup remover. Last year, I reviewed Bobbi Brown's Makeup Melter & Cleanser and I was less than impressed. I mentioned in that post, that I prefer cleansing balms (Clinique's Take The Day Off, Drunk Elephant's Slaai Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm and IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Makeup 3-in-1 Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm  are my absolute favorites). You can easily travel with those and they take your makeup off with EASE. Well now Bobbi Brown has a cleansing balm!!! How is it? Let's start with the aesthetics. The cleansing balm is a gorgeous honey yellow and comes in a beautiful heavy glass jar. I love Bobbi Brown's insignia on top of the jar lid. The consistency of this cleansing balm is similar to honey itself. I was a little worried about this at the beginning. I mean who wants anything thick and sticky (like honey) on their face? You scoop the product out and it feels like a really thick honey. After scooping the product out, you are then suppose to warm this cleansing balm in your dry hands before applying it to your face (which is also suppose to be dry). The cleansing balm melts easy, once you warm it up. I applied it to my face and it easily "melted" my foundation, blush and lipstick. It struggled to remove my mascara and eyeliner. I really had to apply extra pressure to remove those two things. Plus, I didn't particularly care for this product around my eyes (the website states to avoid the eye area ... well why is this a cleansing balm if you can't remove eye makeup with it??? that makes no sense to me). It has a light scent, nothing offensive. The website describes it as notes of citrus. The key ingredients in this cleansing balm are olive extract, glycerin and orange oil. While using this cleansing balm, your skin will feel moisturized, but as soon as you pat your skin dry that moisturized feeling goes away. I did a quick demo for you using the product below. I put foundation, lipstick, mascara and eyeliner on my hand. You'll see for yourself how this cleansing balm dissolves each. Maybe this product dissolves only Bobbi Brown makeup? I'm not impressed with either of her makeup removers/cleansers. I will say, I LOVE Bobbi Brown's Vitamin Enriched Face Base, Vitamin Enriched Eye Base, Hydrating Eye Cream, and Hydrating Water Fresh Cream. But this, I'm sending back and I never send anything back.
