If you’re single and looking to mingle, you might be excited about the prospect of potentially meeting the love of your life, but you may also be worried about the dating game.
Some people love dating and all that entails while many people find it to be a difficult process that you need to go through in order to meet someone and pursue a relationship. If you’re the latter, then here are some things you can do to (hopefully) make dating easier on you:
1. Remember it’s a numbers game
If you get easily disheartened because, despite being on all of the dating apps, or despite using chat lines like https://freechatlines.com/charlotte-nc regularly, for example, then you need to remind yourself that dating is a numbers game. If you want to find the right person, you need to meet a lot of wrong people first and that means that you cannot rely on just dating apps or just chat lines or just the local bar alone - you need to explore as many avenues of dating as possible and kiss as many frogs, metaphorically speaking, as possible to find your prince.
2. Remember rejection is not personal
When you are rejected by a potential dating partner, it can feel pretty personal, but it really isn’t. Like you, most people who are dating have a specific criteria that they are looking for and only a few people are ever going to match it. If you aren’t one of them, that doesn’t mean you aren’t attractive in some way, it just means they were looking for something else. If you let rejection wound you, then you will have a really hard time dating when rejection is part and parcel of the process, so try to look at it as being a mismatch of needs and it won’t sting so much.
3. Have a positive attitude
If you go into the dating game with a negative attitude thinking that you are not good enough or that there are no good men or women left that there is there’s no point in even trying, then you probably won’t get many dates. Not because what you are telling yourself is true, but because no one likes a negative Neil or Nancy and your negativity will repel people who would otherwise probably love to have a coffee with you. Think positive and make it happen.
4. Don’t make it too big a deal
If you hyperfocus on dating and being successful in the dating game, then you will probably ruin your chances, You will try too hard or expect too much and it will prevent you from being the fun, chilled-out person that is most likely to attract people to you. So, sure make an effort, but don’t make your whole purpose in life be finding a partner because you’ll try too hard, put people off and make yourself feel bad in the process. Try to have fun with it all and chances are you will be far more successful.
Dating does not have to be difficult!
