Naturopathica Chill Chocolate Vine Restorative Eye Balm Review

Not Sponsored: The only bags I like, are shopping bags! But earlier this year, I noticed that I was getting puffy under my eyes (see picture below - my left eye in particular). I just summed it up to getting older, but I wasn't liking it. A couple of years prior to that, I was experiencing some darkness under my eyes. My solution to that was getting more sleep (which helped) and covering those areas up with Smashbox x Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector (which is amazing). So when I saw that Naturopathica made a Chill Chocolate Vine Restorative Eye Balm that depuffs tired eyes, reduces the look of dark circles and fine lines around the eyes, it was exactly what I needed and was ready to purchase. This is an eye BALM (not cream). There is a difference in texture! Creams, whether moisturizers or under-eye creams, usually absorb into the skin. This creamy balm, stays put when you apply it to your under-eye area. It's lightweight. It's creamy. It has a cooling affect. It feels great when you apply it. For me, it has done a great job de-puffing my under-eye area (see picture below and you'll see pictures in future posts). I apply a generous amount at night, but this can easily be worn during the day as well (you may not want to apply as much as you would at night). If you apply it sparingly (day use), it will not compete with your makeup application. Naturopathica promises an improvement in crow's feet, under eye puffiness, and hydration in 21 days. My under eye puffiness saw improvements within a week. My dark circles? They look a little better (some improvement), but have not completely gone away. Hydration? My under-eye area did feel hydrated (but not as much with my favorites Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream and Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Eye Base). I hate to use two eye creams to get the job done, so I will just have to see. The ingredients in this eye balm is Chocolate Vine (which I talked about yesterday - but this eye balm doesn't have that delicious smelling chocolate scent), Avocado (depuffs under-eyes and reduces dark circles) and Babassu (blurs fine lines and dark circles). This is a really good eye balm, but will it completely resolve all of your under-eye issuess? I don't think it will. From my experience, it depends on the severity of your problem. Naturopathica also makes a Chill Chocolate Vine Stress Candle, Diffuser, and Detox Tonic. Definitely want to try because of the scent!
