Not Sponsored: I really like the brand Sol de Janeiro. I'm a fan of their Coco Cabana Body Collection (reviewed here). I enjoy spritzing the spray, during the Spring and Summer months! I am a SUPER FAN of their Brazilian Nude Body Moisturizer Lotion (reviewed here). It feels so good on the skin and is very moisturizing. It comes in three (3) sizes. Overall, I think anyone that has tried Sol de Janeiro products, would agree their scents and soft, creamy texture really capture you. They've recently come out with a NEW product called Beija Flor Elasti-Cream (Revolve, Harrods, Harvey Nichols). Sol de Janeiro describes it as an "elasticity-boosting rich body cream [that] is clinically proven to boost collagen* (when you go to their website, really READ everything behind the asterik, because it tells you that individuals that participated in this study used the product THREE (3) TIMES A DAY FOR NINE DAYS and another group used it TWICE (2) A DAY FOR EIGHT WEEKS. Another group saw results after TWO (2) WEEKS. All of that is really important to know! Some people may buy a jar of this and use it once a day (and not see any results). So, this product requires CONSTANT use and application to see results. What's the goal of this product? To boost collagen. To give you plump & replenished skin and support the cellular renewal process. Let me list the key ingredients for you:
Cacay Oil: This retinol alternative is highly effective in supporting the cellular renewal process. Cacay Oil mimics the benefits of retinol—without the common skin-irritating side effects or increased sun sensitivity, making it ideal for all-day wear. This cold-pressed oil drawn from the seeds of the Cacay tree is profoundly nourishing and promotes skin’s natural moisture levels.
Vegan Collagen: One of skin’s key building blocks for density and bounce, collagen is essential for healthy-looking and feeling skin. This vegan-certified amino acid blend helps maintain skin’s natural collagen supply and offset its gradual decline, which starts as early as age 18.
Plant Squalane: Similar to skin’s own naturally occurring oils, Squalane drenches skin with vital moisture to instantly plump the look of skin, deeply hydrate and prevent moisture loss while promoting suppleness and resilience.
I've been using this for two weeks now on one hand and arm. The fine lines on my hand in comparison to the one without the product, are not as pronounced (but they're still there) and overall the skin on my hand & arm look nourished. Don't expect fine lines or deep wrinkles to disappear while using this product. I didn't find this product as moisturizing as they make you believe. My dry skin constantly drank it up. The skin on the applied hand did feel softer, in comparison to my other hand. Initially I was worried about the fragrance of this cream. Whenever I see floral, I start giving it the side-eye. But the scent is really pleasant. I like it a lot. The fragrance Top Note is: Pink Dragonfruit, Lychee Essence Mid Note is: Brazilian Jasmine, Ocean Air, Hibiscus and Bottom Dry Note is: Sheer Vanilla, Sun Musk What's important to know, is that if you like the scent to this cream it's also offered in fragrance form (Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 68 Beija Flor Perfume Mist). I'll continue to use this, but I don't think there will be enough plumping of the skin to truly impress people overall. Especially for the price tag. I feel their Brazilian Nude Moisturizer Lotion is better (more nourishing and hydrating). Sol de Janeiro does mention this cream is really good for your neck and chest areas. So you may want to just use it on those areas. As you can see, there's a lot of if's, and's and but's. I'll keep using it and if I see any vast improvements, I'll change my rating. But right now, I just see this cream as ok.
Sol de Janeiro Beija Flor Elasti-Cream is Bittersweet
