The lip balm formula has been a cult classic for me since 2014 and their lip mask is excellent! So, lets talk about their NEW lip rescue ointment (Sephora, Harrods, Nordstrom).
Fresh describes their lip ointment as "clinically proven to visibly repair dry, flaky lips & moisturize to relieve discomfort on dry skin areas for a smooth, healthy look. This universal multi-use ointment coats lips (or any other dry skin patches) with a protective layer to deliver 72hr hydration**, smooth flakiness, and relieve discomfort from dryness. Infused with hydrating sugar and nourishing plant-based emollients, this restorative treatment is our winter hero." Ok Fresh! I have super dry skin and lips. I tried it out you guys and below are my thoughts.
This ointment is just that .... and OINTMENT! It's thick & rich. You have to SQUEEZE it out the tube. When you apply it to your lips, it goes on thick. It really coats and stays on the lips. I must say, it's very creamy (and feels really good) once you work it into the skin on your lips. I don't mind any of this, but does it WORK? If you're in really cold, frigid weather, this ointment will PROTECT your lips from the harsh wind, snow and overall cold weather (or other elements). Lets also say, you want to use this as an overnight lip treatment. In either case (I tested it for several nights...overnight), this ointment is only a PROTECTANT. Although I woke up with smooth lips, THEY DID NOT FEEL MOISTURIZED. So, I'm a little disappointed in this ointment. Whenever I use the balm or the mask, my lips feel moisturized. So, I suggest you use those instead. I also like Lawless Forget the Filler Lip Plumping Mask (Kohls, ShopBop, Sephora, QVC). It's my new go to for lip care along with Fresh Advanced Therapy lip balm.
