Not Sponsored: Hey Everybody! I've been wanting to write some posts about cleaning for a really long time. I think I held off, because the topic is about CLEANING. HaHaHa Cleaning is not a popular topic, (but it is a necessity) so I kept pushing these posts back. Also, I feel everyone has their own favorite cleaning products. When I started using the same cleaning products year after year, with effortless and proven results, I thought I should share them with you. You never know how you can help others, with your own personal experiences. So here we go! This post is NOT sponsored.

1. Swiffer Sweeper 2-in-1, Dry and Wet Multi-Surface Floor Sweeping and Mopping Starter Kit
When I replaced the carpet in my home (years and years ago) with hardwood flooring, I also had to change my cleaning products. A gentleman that really knows about hardwood flooring told me, cleaning hardwood floors is really a 3-step process. He suggested the following. Vacuum your hardwood floors first, to pick up any large debris. I use a small stick broom vacuum cleaner, that I purchased from Target. He then said, you must pick up the dust. I use a Swiffer Sweeper with dry cloth. It's awesome, because it seems to be a magnet dust catcher for any dust that's on the floor. The next thing you do is apply a solution. To see what I use, skip to #4 and #5. EXTRA: Also, this mop is really great to clean the shower with. Simply attach a microfiber cloth to it, which makes cleaning the shower glass and shower walls a breeze.
2. Swiffer Dusters Heavy Duty 6ft Extendable Handle Starter Kit
Don't forget to dust your baseboards, mirrors, blinds, and ceiling fans. For those areas, I love my Swiffer Dusters. I usually buy the heavy duty (they can hold more dust) and use them with the 6ft Extendable Handle. This handle can bend, which is great for dusting ceiling fans. Keep it straight to get those base boards, mirrors, blinds and it also works great for getting underneath furniture.
3. Swiffer PowerMop Multi-Surface Kit For Floor Cleaning
I believe Swiffer introduced the Swiffer Power Mop in 2023. It's awesome you guys. I was using their wet cloths, along with the Swiffer Sweeper (#1), but I was never a fan of that method. The Swiffer PowerMop is much sturdier and it makes cleaning my bathroom floors much easier. It's been a gem.
4. Bona Power Plus Hardwood Floor Deep Cleaner
As I mentioned previously, I have hardwood floors. I initially had real wood floors and then changed them out to engineered hardwood floors. When they were real wood, I used Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner. It worked great. When I changed to engineered hardwood floors, it left white footprints when I walked on it. I called Bona and they said to use the Power Plus instead. It's really good. I spray it directly on the floor, give it a minute and then I mop. This really makes my floors look good.
5. Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner
If you have real hardwood floors, I would suggest the Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner. It's excellent for them. I still use this, but on my wood furniture instead. It's great for my kitchen cabinets, frame of my bed and other wood furniture. None of Bona's products are oily. Your wood is moisturized and just looks great. I learned about Bona through an upscale hotel I stayed at. I noted the name and that's when I started using it in my home.
6. Bona Premium Microfiber Mop for Multi-Surface Floors AND Bona Power Plus Microfiber Deep Clean Pad
Do yourself a favor and buy the Bona mop and cleaning pad! I say its a necessity, because it compliments the products. The mop easily gets under furniture, small spaces and narrow corners. The pad works well with the cleaners in #4 and #5.
My family is a generational Lysol purchaser. If you need to kill germs, Lysol is the brand. I spray the house with Lysol and also my mattress and pillows.
Lysol also has a fabric disinfectant that's even better for couches,
chairs and bedding. It doesn't make them as wet as using the spray.
9. Lysol Power Toilet Bowl Cleaner
Oh, how I love this stuff! Apply it to your toilet and let it sit (appropriate minutes on the bottle) to disinfect. It really does the job and gets your toilet clean. Do a small test! I use this to clean my shower glass, but you have to be careful with your fixtures, because it will cause them to corrode or discolor. But it cleans shower glass scum like a breeze.
This is a new addition to my cleaning product lineup. I've been very impressed with ZEP Bathroom Disinfectant. It's my in-between for deep bathroom cleanings. It's great at getting rid of any urine odor and keeping things smelling FRESH. It's an excellent disinfectant as well. Plus it has a great price point.
Lysol and Swiffer FTW, Kim!
